Governor Charlie Crist, on behalf of the Florida Disaster Recovery Fund, recently presented checks for $25,000 each to Long-term Recovery Organizations serving counties that FEMA determined were hardest hit by Tropical Storm Fay. Recipients of the grants are Brevard Long-term Recovery Coalition, Volusia Interfaiths/Agencies Networking in Disaster and St. Lucie Inspired Network to Achieve Community Together. The recovery organization, Seminole Heart, has since been added to the group. The organizations are assessing damage, staffing up and gathering contributions for the recovery effort.
